SENIOR BRAND STRATEGIST

JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Brand Strategist to develop and execute high-level branding strategies for luxury fashion brands. This role requires advanced expertise in market positioning, competitor analysis, customer segmentation, differentiation strategies, strategic roadmaps, and brand narratives. You will oversee the entire process from concept to execution, ensuring the brand strategy positions fashion brands as distinct leaders in the luxury market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Discovery & Insight Gathering - Conduct in-depth meetings with clients to understand brand vision, mission, target audience, USP, and luxury positioning, laying the foundation for a tailored brand strategy.

Market & Competitive Research - Conduct comprehensive research, including market trends, competitor analysis, and consumer behavior analysis, to identify opportunities, challenges, and insights that drive strategic decisions.

Brand Strategy Formulation - Create a comprehensive, data-driven brand strategy roadmap that differentiates the brand in the market, aligning all messaging and marketing efforts with business objectives.

Brand Positioning & Messaging - Define and develop a clear brand positioning strategy, ensuring the brand’s value proposition, messaging, and tone resonate with the target market.

Brand Guidelines & Visual Identity - Establish and implement brand guidelines to ensure consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity across all marketing materials and communication channels.

Brand Storytelling & Narrative Creation - Develop a compelling and authentic brand story that aligns with the brand's mission and values, and resonates with consumers to foster emotional connections.

Campaign Strategy & Execution - Lead the creation and execution of brand campaigns, collaborating with creative teams to ensure alignment with brand strategy and market needs.

Brand Performance Monitoring & Optimization - Track brand performance using KPIs, data analytics, and market feedback. Continuously optimize strategies and tactics to improve brand visibility, engagement, and market share.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration - Collaborate with marketing, creative, and product teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of the brand strategy across all touchpoints.

Reporting & Client Communication - Present brand strategy performance and insights to clients, providing data-backed recommendations for continuous improvement and growth.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Communications.
  • 4+ years of experience in brand strategy or marketing, ideally within the luxury or fashion industry.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in formulating brand strategies for real brands that resulted in positive business outcomes, ideally with fashion brands.
  • Proven expertise in developing brand guidelines, positioning strategies, and market differentiation.
  • Strong skills in market research, consumer insights, and competitive analysis to inform strategy.
  • Data-driven with experience using KPIs and analytics to optimize brand performance.
  • Expertise in brand storytelling to create narratives that resonate with target audiences.
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively across teams (creative, marketing, digital).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of market trends, consumer behavior, and digital strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for client and stakeholder interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.

WORKING DETAILS & COMPENSATION

This is a long-term, project-based role where you will take on projects as Near partners with high-end fashion brands. Compensation will be provided per project, with generous rates that reflect the complexity and scope of the work. You will have the flexibility to take on independent projects when Near is not handling a client but you will be expected to prioritize and dedicate your expertise to delivering high-quality work whenever a new client comes on board at Near.
